The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has been named as one of the world’s most favourite hotels in Conde Nast Traveller’s 2016 Gold List.
The hotel, a fixture in the heart of Hanoi since 1901, was praised for its old-world colonial charm. It has played host to playwrights, ambassadors and heads of state from around the world.
Divided into two wings, the historic Metropole side blends classic French and Vietnamese styles while contemporary Opera wing displays neoclassical influences.
The hotel was also voted as the best hotel in Hanoi by readers of the DestinAsian - a luxury travel and lifestyle magazine.
Last year, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi won Hong Kong Business Traveller Asia-Pacific award for best business hotel in Hanoi.
