The new patient was exposed to Patient 1342 who had been confirmed on November 29.
From November 18 to 25, Patient 1347 taught at English-language centers in Tan Binh district and District 10 as well as visited some other places.

There are 38 people in close contact with Patient 1347 and 217 others exposed to this person, according to initial epidemiological investigation results. All have been put under quarantine.

The patient 1347 ended a streak of nearly three months of zero locally-transmitted infections, according to the Ministry of Health.

At a recent meeting, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long requested the city's Department of Health to promptly trace and test all people having contact with the patient.

He ordered the department to immediately request people, who were at the sites the patient 1347 visited, to contact local health facilities, and to temporarily put those places in lockdown.

Mr. Long also urged all medical establishments in the city to raise their guard, increase screening measures for people with suspected symptoms, and seriously conduct anti-Covid-19 measures as regulated.

He warned the public to stay on high alert at a time when the coronavirus has re-emerged in many parts of the world and Vietnam is still granting entry to certain groups of people who are subject to mandatory quarantine.
