The Swiss delegation led by Swiss Minister of State for Economic Affairs Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen Fleisch visited Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment on October 11 during its working visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen Fleisch highly appreciated the efforts made by the Vietnamese Government in general and Hanoi in particular in improving the business environment and supporting sustainable business development.
Since 2004, the World Bank published the report on the evaluation of the business environment in Asian countries, including Vietnam. The World Bank has evaluated reforms of business environment of all the country worldwide through each specific criterion. This valuation has put pressures on governments in improving the business environment.
The Vietnamese Government have issued some resolutions and provisions of administrative reform, contributing to create favourable conditions for improving the trade environment for both domestic and foreign businesses, including Swiss investors in the recent years.
"Vietnam has been always a reliable partner of us for years. We committed to support Vietnam addressing the economic challenges, especially the business environment. Vietnam is one of the two nations (along with Indonesia) in the Southeast Asia that the Swiss Government has get the priory in supporting to improve the country's business environment," she said.
Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen Fleisch expressed her hope that the Swiss businesses will continue to seek attractive business opportunities in Vietnam, especially in Hanoi, and vice versa, Vietnam enterprises will also have chances accessing to the Swiss market - one of the developed economies of the world.
During the reception for minister Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen Fleisch, Vice Chairman Nguyen Doan Toan said along with the Government's joint efforts to improve the business environment, Hanoi city has tried the best efforts to create favourable conditions for domestic and foreign enterprises operating in the locality, especially the Swiss investors .
The city strives to reach the target of 100% of documents registered online by 2017, he added.
The Vice Chairman hoped that Switzerland will continue to support Hanoi in the implementation of business environment reforms.
