Vietnam Power Supply

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) said it is planning to revise the Power Development Plan (PDP VIII), a little over 15 months after its approval, to ensure a feasible energy supply.

Electricity shortages in the North were warned two years ago and have become even more pronounced since 2022, especially the region's lack of new energy sources.

About 4,350 MW more electricity is needed in the north of the country.
