The Thai ethnic group festival will be held from December 27 to 29 in the northwestern mountainous province of Lai Chau .
The festival is expected to draw the participation of eight provinces including Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa.
The opening ceremony for the festival will be broadcast live on VTV2 and VTV5 channels of Vietnam Television. The closing ceremony will be broadcast live on Lai Chau provincial Television.
Under the theme " Preserving and promoting cultural identities of the Thai ethnic group in the national renewal and integration process”, the festival of Thai ethnic group promises to bring significant activities such as a show on traditional costumes of the Thai ethnic group, mass artistic performances, Xoe dance, mua sap, etc.
Besides, an exhibition on Thai ethnic tourism and cultural products will be organized.
The exhibition introduces "The Story of Thai ethnic family".
In addition, sports activities will also be held during the festival.
The festival is a unique cultural event which aims to introduce and honor the beauty of Thai ethnic’s culture, and promote the traditional cultural values of Vietnam’s unified culture.
