The beauty of Hanoi craft villages through photos

The photo exhibition, entitled "Hanoi Craft Villages" and "The Beauty of Vietnam's Regions", honors craftsmen and those who contribute to preserving, conserving, and promoting the nation's traditional cultural values.

The photo exhibition titled “Hanoi Craft Villages” and “The Beauty of Vietnam's Regions” is underway until October 14 at Exhibition Hall 45 Trang Tien, to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2023).

The Hang Trong Folk Painting's Soul Keeper by Vu Ngoc Bao won first prize in the "Hanoi Craft Village" photo contest.

The pictures displayed at the exhibition are the result of a photo contest initiated by the Hanoi Artistic Photography Association.

Over two months into the contest, the Organizing Committee has received 1,712 submissions from 227 authors, divided into two themes.

Among them, 52 best photos with the theme of "Hanoi Craft Village" were selected to be displayed at the exhibition. Vu Ngoc Bao's photo entitled "Hang Trong Folk Painting's Soul Keeper" won the first prize of the competition; photographer Vu Quang Ngoc's "A Jeweler of Hang Bac Street" was awarded the second prize; and Le Hoan Dieu's "Spring Garden - Nhat Tan Traditional Peach Growing Village" the third prize.

In addition, among 60 works of art depicting "The Beauty of Vietnam's Regions", three works called "Completion of Rotor and Stator Cage Work in Hydroelectric Power Plant" by Pham Hai Vinh; "Ma Pi Leng - The Road of Happiness" by Tran Thai Son and "A Choro Ethnic Kid" by Ngo Thanh Huong won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

Nguyen Xuan Chinh, vice president of the Hanoi Artistic Photography Association and head of the jury, said the photos on display were all of high artistic quality and vividly portrayed the beauty of the landscape and people of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.

"Through the photos, the authors have accurately captured the people's daily lives. The award-winning photo works are all true to the theme of the competition," he said.
