Exhibition “Fantitastisch!” – Art and Design not just for kids
Exhibition “Fantitastisch!” .
Exhibition “Fantitastisch!” .
Children have wide-ranging and powerful fantasies. In order to promote their creativity, the participating artists have set themselves the task of designing beautiful and useful objects for the young explorers. The exhibition be show at Goethe Institut, Hanoi.
Child-sized furniture, including bookshelves, tables and stools invite kids to paint, draw and play. They can make their own stuffed animals and textile products by hand; a backpack can be turned into a toy; those who prefer can make themselves comfortable in the cozy reading corner. For particularly active adventurers, a pushbike made of recycled materials is waiting. And whoever enjoys digital games can “paint music” with an app that turns colors into sounds.
Six artists from Saxony-Anhalt have prepared this exhibition, placing emphasis on attractive aesthetics, child-friendly design and sustainability. They enable children and adults to have unique, interactive encounters with the exhibition. Please DO touch the art works! That’s what they’re there for.
With this exhibition, the Goethe Institute wants to promote an understanding of education that promotes creativity and artistic discovery. Children and adults are playfully introduced to the works and products of the artists to help them shape a space for their own creativity. Fun is guaranteed – and not just for the kids!
The German guests in Hanoi are Anne Sommer, playing and learning designer from the German company Spielmode, and Juri Spetter, who designs and builds bicycles from recycled materials. They will also offer workshops about their products.
The concept of the exhibition comes from the Art Foundation of Saxony-Anhalt. The director of the foundation, Manon Bursian, will be present as well.
Manon Bursian has worked as the head of Information Centers at the Goethe Institutes in Helsinki, Oslo, and St. Petersburg. Since 2005, she has been the director of the Art Foundation of Saxony-Anhalt.
