The Capital to ensure food safety before Mid-Autumn Festival

The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued Official Letter 8097/VP-KGVX, requesting relevant agencies and units to carry out inter-disciplinary inspection and examination of food safety before Mid-Autumn Festival.



 
The Municipal People’s Committee received Plan 902/KH- BCDTUVSATTP dated August 18, 2017 of the Central Inter-disciplinary Steering Committee for Food Safety on inspection and examination of food safety before Mid-Autumn Festival.

Accordingly, Departments of Health shall act as advisor to People’s Committees and Inter-disciplinary Steering Committees for Food Safety of cities and provinces in planning food safety inspection before Mid-Autumn Festival; establish inter-disciplinary inspection missions at all levels with participation of authorities, and check food production, trade, import and service facilities; cooperate with central inter-disciplinary inspection missions to conduct inspection and punish violations in the facilities according to the plan.


 
People’s Committees and Inter-disciplinary Steering Committee for Food Safety of cities and provinces direct local authorities and People’s Committees at all levels to take measures to ensure food safety in Mid-Autumn Festival, enhance popularization and arrange capitals to increase food safety during the festival.

Localities shall build plan and found inspection missions, conduct examination from September 5. Central inter-disciplinary inspection missions and local missions report results of inspection to Ministry of Health. For violations to be publicized on mass media, the inspection missions, authorities and localities must timely announce names of violators and relevant information.

In response to the document, the Municipal People’s Committee assigns Department of Health in coordination with Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Finance, People's Committee of districts and towns to perform the tasks effectively.
