Hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese lined the downtown streets of Hanoi in the early morning hours of October 13, to bid farewell as General Vo Nguyen Giap began his final journey to his motherland, central Quang Binh province.

People and soldiers mourned their beloved General on his way to the ‘resting site’ after his 103 springs devoted to the country and its people…
Elderly persons sobbed violently, adults’ voices choked with emotion, with their eyes sticking on the hearse that transports the General’s coffin…
Correspondents, including both photographers and cameramen, did their jobs in tears…
