The magic of Czech glass on display in Hanoi

Most of the works on display are in the category of applied glass and design, with some others in unique glass sculptures.

The Magic of Czech Glass exhibition features 17 works by 13 Czech artists and showcases the artistry and craftsmanship of Czech glassmaking.

Opened in June by the Embassy of the Czech Republic, it presents exclusive handmade glass works by famous Czech artists such as Lukas Jaburek, Frantisek Jungvirt, and Alena Matejka.

The exhibition helps the public to admire the masterful skills of Czech glass designers and appreciate the traditional Czech heritage fused with contemporary Czech art.

The exhibition is expected to provide insight into the current development of Czech glass art and to draw attention to contemporary Czech artists of different generations, experiences, and techniques.

Czech glass has a long history going back centuries, and it is currently the best glass produced in the world.

The early 18th and 19th centuries were the heyday of Czech glass production, with splendid Bohemian crystal chandeliers sold worldwide.

The fused glass sculptures of Jaroslava Brychtova and Stanislav Libensky, which fundamentally changed the technical principles of the medium of glass worldwide, are also on display.

The exhibition will last until June 13 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi.
