Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has approved the Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV)’s plan to launch a 24/7 English language channel.
The Deputy Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Information and Communications to license the channel based on current regulations.
The new channel is scheduled to be aired in the third quarter this year.
Currently, the VOV’s Overseas Service VOV5 is broadcasting 12 foreign language programmes in English, French, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, German, Lao, Thai, Cambodian, Indonesian and Vietnamese.
