Wishing Peace for Truong Sa, a photo series by Nguyen Thu Thuy, made it to the Worldwide Photography Gala Awards` final round for women in York, UK.
Painter Thuy, author of The Ceramic Road Along the Red River Dyke, sent 35 photos to the competition.
Four pictures in the 10-painting Truong Sa series include Truong Sa Before the Storm, Truong Sa Boys and Peace Lotus in the Sunset.
"I think the first goal in attending this international competition is to spread the message of peace for Truong Sa," Thuy said. "I hope to introduce this competition to the nation's photographers, because international contests are a good way to promote the image of our country."
This year's competition attracted more than 1,200 professional and amateur photographers from 51 countries.
The fourth International Biennial of Fine Arts and Documentary will be held to display the works of the winners and finalists in Berlin, in June 2016.
