Uber to launch its first Greenlight Hub in Hanoi
On October 19 in Hanoi, Uber has officially launched its first Greenlight Hub in Hanoi, a place with where drivers can receive in-person support.
After 3 years of operating in Vietnam, Uber has launched its first Greenlight Hub in Vietnam at Hanoi, which marks an important milestone in Uber’s operation in Vietnam. Located in the Imperial building at 71 Van Phuc Street, Ba Dinh District, Greenlight Hub is a commitment of Uber to bring the best experience for both drivers and passengers. The Greenlight Hub occupies three floors with total area of 620m2, which is easy for drivers to find.
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of Uber in Vietnam – Tom White said, he believed Greenlight Hub will bring better experience for drivers, as Uber staff in remote locations can help drivers in locations that don't have an office in their city or the office is a distance away with on boarding and other issues, at the same time to open new doors for others.
The launch of Greenlight Hub is a significant step and mark 3 years of Uber’s presence in Vietnam. Greenlight Hub will be the place where Uber works to improve and refine its working procedures, proposing more support functions and improve the experience quality for drivers, such as function to allow driver booking schedule ahead of time, with an aim to reduce waiting time. Driver can also receive instruction and training here, or experience the application through tablet.
Every Uber driver or applicant who has ever tried to contact Uber knows that there is no phone support and no live chat. They even phased out direct email support. So driver or passenger can message Uber in the app or at help.uber.com, but the most typical response people will get when messaging Uber is a copy/pasted answer straight out of a FAQ that might not even address the question asked at all.
The best way to get an issue quickly resolved with Uber is to get in-person help from Uber staffs at “Greenlight Hubs.” A visit to a Greenlight Hub will put passenger/driver in front of a real person who has the ability and the authority to help them solve their problems and answer questions in one visit instead of drawn out multi-day threads that never come to a resolution.
When visting Greenlight Hubs, people can apply to drive; get help with documents: Uploading, updating, and clarifying issues; ask questions about passenger account: What people need to do to get hired or paid, reasons for deactivation, how to get reactivated, etc. The main benefit of going to office hours is that Uber staffs can help passenger/driver to get what they need done in hopefully one visit. If someone is having trouble using the Uber website or figuring out how to deal with their documents, a visit to the local office should help them speed things along.
Currently in Vietnam, Uber and Grab has quickly become favorite choice because of their convenience, more competitive price and usually better looking vehicles. Since the introduction of Uber and Grab, taxi market in Vietnam’s big cities have undergone transformations. Vietnamese conventional taxis are developing their own apps to compete including V.Car, Thanh Cong Car, M.Car. The policy of piloting digital transport contract for under 9 seat vehicles have driven Vietnamese conventional taxis to change for the better, which in the long term will benefit passengers.
