UK and Finland teams to compete for fireworks championship in Da Nang
There is no better time to visit Da Nang than during the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
The UK and Finnish teams will compete in the final night of Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2019 (DIFF) on July 6, a local newspaper reported, citing the organizing board.
After four nights of DIFF, the UK and Finnish teams won the highest scores and beat all teams from Italy, Russia, Brazil, Belgium, Holland, China and Vietnam.
On their competition, the Pyrotex Fireworx team from England wowed the audience with their 20-minute show telling the romantic story of the Thames River in England and it made it all more special with extra lighting effects and music.
The Finnish team, known as Joho Pyro Professional Fireworks AB, presented a spectacular fireworks presentation under the theme inspired from Kalevala’s Lemminkäinen, a well-known hero from Finnish mythology. Entitled “Hero of the River”, Joho Pyro’s presentation consisted of hundreds of different fireworks launched into the skies along with the background sounds of rock, metal, and classical music.
This year’s festival with the theme “Stories by the Rivers” takes place from June 1 to July 6 in Da Nang. The show starts promptly at 8pm each Saturday. There is no better time to visit Da Nang than right now. During the festival, domestic and foreign visitors, and fireworks enthusiasts from all over the world also come together in this inspiring coastal hub for a spectacle of world-class pyrotechnics.
Da Nang held the first DIFF in 2008. In 2017, its transformation from a two-day competition to a month-long festival helped the city maintain its status as a leading tourism hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2018, Da Nang welcomed 7.6 million visitors including 2.87 million foreigners, a 23.3% increase against 2017.
