US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo chose to visit Hanoi's Old Quarter during his trip to the Vietnam on Sunday.
Hanoi Old quarter is an area including numerous streets around Hoan Kiem Lake - the city's iconic lake.

The US Secretary showed up there at about 8p.m when the area started to get crowded due to a pedestrian zone opening around Hoan Kiem Lake at weekend.

Pompeo took to the streets of Trang Tien, Dinh Le and Dinh Tien Hoang.

Mike Pompeo had a two day-visit to Vietnam, which is his first trip to the Southeast Asian country after his swearing-in as US Secretary of State.

During the trip, the US official met with Vietnamese Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong and made a speech during a meeting of Vietnamese business leaders.
|
He would leave Hanoi for Abu Dhabi this afternoon.
