Vietnam Airlines celebrates New Year with Hanoi residents at new culture space
The Cultural Space “Vietnam Airlines–Spring Take-off,” jointly organized by Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific, was officially introduced to the public at Ly Thai Flower Garden, Hanoi.
The event holds many interesting activities and has attracted about 30,000 residents from the capital as well as international tourists.
Right from the get-go, the Cultural Space has impressed the public with programs such as discount airfares and a tombola with attractive gifts from the two airlines. One of the highlights of the interaction with Vietnam Airlines was the trial of the modern 4-star service. Participants not only experienced life as flight attendants, but were also given career advice by friendly and dedicated staff, which helped create more opportunities in the Year of the Dog.
Also at the Cultural Space, visitors can immerse themselves in folk songs and melodies of ethnic musical instruments at the Bat Giac house, as well as participate in various folk games like Mandarin square capturing, sepak takraw (woven ball catching), stilt walking or ancient scholar’s calligraphy. These traditional pastimes often practiced during the holiday seasons of the old days, have been recreated by Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar in a space depicting the strong cultural identity of Vietnam mixed with the modern features of the two airlines to greet the soon-coming New Year.
As the capital is abuzz with excitement to welcome the New Year, Duong Tri Thanh, General Director of Vietnam Airlines, shared his thoughts: "As the national airline, Vietnam Airlines has always been walking alongside the community in promoting our national culture. From 2018, Vietnam Airlines will organize a series of cultural space events in big cities and provinces in the country with the aim of reinforcing the nation’s cultural identity by allowing the public to enjoy and immerse themselves in popular cultural programs and recall their and the country’s youth."
As a highlight of "Vietnam Airlines–Spring Take-off," in order to join millions of their fellow countrymen who were looking forwards to the finals of the AFC U23 championship between Vietnam and Uzbekistan, participants could send their good wishes to the Vietnamese team via an aircraft model specially designed by Vietnam Airlines as a gift to the players to encourage them to do their best in the "historic match."
This is also an event in a series of co-operation activities between Vietnam Airlines and the People's Committee of Hanoi and will become a regular activity held every two months to provide a weekend gathering place for the residents of the capital.
