The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) presented the insignia “For peace and friendship among nations” to Minister -Counsellor cum Consul General of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam Park Sang-shik in Hanoi on August 16 in honour of his dedication to bilateral strategic cooperative partnership.
The event was concurrent with the 25th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties.
Speaking at the event, VUFO Secretary General and Vice President Don Tuan Phong said during his three-year tenure in Vietnam, Park actively met Vietnamese agencies, localities and partners to learn about specific cooperative ideas regarding granting work permits to Vietnamese workers, exchange of culture, tourism, music performances and movies between the two countries.
Park also helped with people-to-people exchange such as assisting localities in establishing and enhancing ties, calling for Korean investment, giving lectures on Vietnam-RoK ties to students, and urging Korean communities to join charity activities in poor areas.
For his part, Park said upon his return to home country, he will do his best to nurture friendship and solidarity between the two peoples.
