Senior Vice President of Sales for Garmany Golf Bill Hogan has played golf in 60 countries and is one of the foremost authorities in the world when it comes to golf and travel.
Garmany Golf, which creates unique golf and travel experiences based on world-class guest service and hospitality, has just named Vietnam the number one country on its list for golf travel destinations in the world.
“Vietnam takes your breath away with its beauty, history, culture, and a growing list of great golf courses,” Garmany Golf wrote.
There are few places anywhere, especially in Asia, where all those assets sit so closely together. Courses like Hoiana Shores and Greg Norman’s newly opened Kam Ranh (Cam Ranh) are special and there are a number of other great ones.
Visitors have to balance their time among jungle resorts, beach resorts, and the cities, north and south, with good golf in all three environs. Plus, the amazing food and value: Vietnam is about a third the price of many international destinations, according to Germany Golf.
On the list, Vietnam is followed by Northwest Ireland, Wisconsin, France, South Africa, New Zealand, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Melbourne, Australia and Tasmania, South Korea.
Earlier, the Ministry of Planning and Investment recently organized fact-finding trips for an inter-sectorial delegation to several provinces in a move to finalize the amendment to the country’s golf course development planning until 2020.
The MPI has proposed to add more golf courses to the planning, such as Kenh Ga - Van Trinh in the northern province of Ninh Binh, Ben En in the central province of Thanh Hoa, Viet Yen in the northern province of Bac Giang, Vinpearl My Lam in the northern province of Tuyen Quang, Ecopark in Hanoi, KDL in the northern province of Hai Phong, Van Don Golf club in the northern province of Quang Ninh and Paradise in the northern province of Ha Nam.
