Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion in collaboration with the Chinese Association of Food and Farm Produce co-chaired a conference in Hanoi on November 24 to discuss measures on promoting investment and trade in agricultural products.

The conference made a chance for Vietnamese and Chinese businesses to discuss how to promote investment and trade in agricultural products.
According to Deputy Director of the Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Truong Viet Dung, in January-September, two-way trade between Vietnam and China reached 49.16 billion USD, in which Vietnam exported 12.44 billion USD and imported 36.72 billion USD, especially Hanoi' trade deficit in 2014 was 5.1 billion USD.
Deputy Director Truong Viet Dung pledged to support Vietnamese and Chinese firms and business associations to conduct market surveys.
The centre will increase liaison with Chinese relevant agencies, especially the two embassies’ commercial sections, to provide businesses with the latest economic and trade information, Dung said.
Vice Chairman of the Chinese Association of Food and Farm Produce Rong Wei Dong said Vietnam and China have supplementary farm produce. China exports apples, mandarins, grapes to Vietnam while importing tropical fruits such as longans, bananas and rice from the country.
