Vietnam's databases on population and land interconnected

It is a joint program to implement the natural resource and environment industry’s task in the 2022-2026 period.

The land database and the National Population Database are now interconnected with the expectation of facilitating administrative procedures in cadastral matters.

The interconnection is formalized through a ceremony held jointly by the Ministries of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and Public Security (MPS) on December 29 in Hanoi.

The MONRE said that the connectivity of databases between the two sectors will help people easily access to the land information system, and state agencies manage population and land information.

It is also the joint program to implement the industry’s task in the 2022-2026 period.

MONRE has finished entering land information into the countrywide database system, which can share data with district and commune databases. It has also cooperated with other ministries to review, update and manage land data to help make the process of handling administrative procedures more convenient.

It has processed and handled more than 300,000 incoming and nearly 70,000 outgoing documents via the electronic document and dossier management system. The rate of electronic documents with e-signature is approximately 100%.

Meanwhile, the operation of the national population database, built by the Ministry of Public Security on July 1, 2021, has helped complete the issuance of personal identification numbers for all citizens, and more than 60 million chip-based ID cards.

In 2023, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will form a data platform for the management of land, housing, and addresses, as well as connect and authenticate it with the National Population Database for state management of land, housing, and real estate transactions.
