Vietnam Digital Transformation Day to take place in late May in Hanoi

Digital transformation progress in eight priority fields under the national digital transformation initiative would be discussed at the event.

The Vietnam Digital Transformation Day (DX Day 2021) event, themed “National Digital Transformation: Sharing and Connecting”, is scheduled to take place in Hanoi on May 26-27.

The event is set to take place from May 26-27 in Hanoi

Vice Chairwoman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) Nguyen Thi Thu Giang revealed the information at a press conference held today [April 5], adding the event is set to attract over 3,000 delegates.

According to Giang, the DX Day 2021 would focus on four main topics, including updates on new trends of digital transformation; introduction on effective digitalization methods; sharing experiences on successful stories of digital transformation; and matching opportunities related to digital transformation.

VINASA, the main organizer of the Vietnam DX Day 2021, revealed the event is expected to comprise eight conferences on digital transformation progress in eight priority fields under the national digital transformation initiative, namely finance-banking, healthcare, education, agriculture, transportation – logistics, energy, natural resources – environment, production – industry, as well as two special conferences on digital transformation for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and one to promote digital startups.

Giang added there would be sideline events, including B2B and B2G matching events, and an online conference on new digital platforms and solutions in Vietnam.

For the 2021-2025 period, Giang noted the VINASA identifies four major orientations, such as developing tech ecosystems; promoting new platforms; focusing on AI strategy; and taking part in training IT workforce.

“The goal is to accelerate the national digital transformation process,” Giang continued, saying the DX Day is an annual event that serves as a platform to mobilize efforts from digital firms to realize these orientations.

The Vietnam DX Day was first held in 2020 with the same theme and attracted 2,000 delegates.
