Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa 2016 to take place in October

According to information revealed at a press conference chaired by authorities of Kanagawa prefecture and the Vietnamese embassy in Japan on June 20, the second Vietnam festival in Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture (Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa 2016) will be organised in Yokohama city from October 28 to 30.

The festival marks the development of cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan, which has been expanded to not only Tokyo but also other localities in Japan. The event aims to introduce Vietnamese culture to Japanese people and contribute to the fine development of Vietnam - Japan relations.
The first Vietnam festival in Kanagawa (Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa 2015) made a good impression to Japan's Kanagawa prefecture audience.

The first Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa in 2015 rounded off with a huge success, giving a boost to both bilateral trade and tourism. Following a soar in the number of local businesses investing in the northern province of Hung Yen, Kanagawa’s authorities have decided to establish an industrial park in the Vietnamese province.
Speaking at the press conference, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong said the festival would boost mutual understanding and open up opportunities to form new partnerships.
The diplomat expressed his belief that this year’s festival will further develop the relationship between Vietnam and Kanagawa prefecture and open up prospects for bilateral cooperation.
The Vietnam Festa 2016 will feature various performances by Vietnamese artists and musicians as well as 100 stalls showcasing food, handicrafts and specialties of Vietnamese localities.
The upcoming event is expected to attract more than 400,000 visitors.
Participants will have an opportunity to enjoy cultural, art and music performances and fashion shows and taste Vietnam traditional dishes.
