The 2015 Vietnam Festival is scheduled to take place in Yoyogi park in Tokyo, Japan on June 13-14, as heard a press conference in the city on May 13.
Speaking at the conference, Japanese senator Matsuda Iwao underscored the significance of the festival as Vietnam celebrates the 70th anniversary of its National Day.
He said he believes the event will promote exchanges and the close friendship between the two Governments and peoples.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung expressed his hope that the festival would contribute to enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples.
The highlight of this year’s event is a traditional Vietnamese water puppet performance programme, Hung revealed.
According to the event’s organising board, the festival will introduce a variety of Vietnamese and Japanese culture through 50 booths featuring cuisine and 30 others featuring handicraft products.
