Vietnam will deliver 800 ventilators, two million medical facemasks, 300,000 N95 masks, and other medical equipment to Cambodia, Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long told his Cambodian counterpart Mam Bunheng at a virtual meeting on April 22.
“We will make the shipment as soon as possible from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh airport that will be undertaken by Vietnam Airlines,” Long said.

In addition, Vietnam will offer health expertise to support Cambodia in the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Long said Vietnam will appoint its health professionals to join medical consultation with Cambodian doctors for better treatment, adding that Cambodia’s medical stations are able to connect with Vietnam’s facilities.
“We are willing to support Cambodia in the fight against Covid-19 by our experiences, which mostly focuses on the connection between medical stations to have best treatment for cases of critical conditions. In the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, we were successful in the treatment without death,” Long told his Cambodian counterpart.
Long emphasized that one of Vietnam’s lessons in the Covid-19 fight is the all-force engagement. It means the involvement of all stakeholders or the whole political system and the people.
Earlier on April 19, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong sent a letter to Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen to learn about the Covid-19 situation in the neighboring country.
In the letter, Trong affirmed to support Cambodia in the fight against Covid-19. He thanked Cambodia for vaccinating Vietnamese diplomats and students in Cambodia and supporting Vietnamese-Cambodian citizens.
