Vietnam has 25.8 million Internet users

The HanoitimesBy August 2010, Vietnam had 3.2 million new phone users, while Internet users reached 25.8 million, an increase of 18.3 percent year o­n year.

 

According to the General Statistics Office, of 33.2 million new phone users for the past eight months, there are 780,000 fixed phone subscribers, a drop of 30.1 percent year o­n year and 32.5 million mobile users, up 17.6 percent.

 

By the end of August, Vietnam has a total of 158.8 million phone subscribers, including 142.4 million mobile and 16.4 million fixed phone subscribers. The number of mobile phone users is eight folds more than fixed phone subscribers.

 

The number of Internet subscribers also reached 3.5 million, up 30.1 percent year o­n year. The number of Internet users is estimated at 25.8 million, growing by 18.3 percent.
