Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that China continues to create favorable conditions, increase the importation of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products of Vietnam.
In the visit to China, on September 16, at Zhongnanhai, Beijing, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with Premier of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that Vietnam consistently pursues a foreign policy of peace, independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification. Vietnam attaches importance to the stable and sustainable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership with China.
Phuc suggested his host instruct Chinese agencies and localities to effectively implement agreements and common understandings reached by the two Parties and States. He also called on the Chinese leader to facilitate the import of Vietnam’s agro-forestry and fishery products while expanding Chinese investment in the country, especially hi-tech and infrastructure projects within the “two corridors, one economic belt” framework. The Deputy PM proposed China continue moving cooperation mechanisms forward between the two countries’ localities effectively and create optimal conditions for economic bonds at border areas. He urged the two sides to control differences at sea, maintain peace and stability in the East Sea and not affect the bilateral ties.
In response, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang affirmed that the Government and people of China consistently pursue the motto of friendly neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam. Li said his country wishes to maintain meetings with Vietnam and stands ready to join with the Southeast Asian nation in settling divergent views and promoting pragmatic cooperation in various areas, thus contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region. He also welcomed Deputy PM Phuc’s official visit to China and his attendance at the China-ASEAN Expo and the 12th China-ASEAN Trade and Investment Summit.
Earlier, Phuc met with Vice Premier Wang Qishan, who is also Secretary of the Chinese Party Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. The two officials shared experience in Party inspection and combating crimes and corruption. They agreed to increase delegation exchanges between the two Parties and nations’ inspection agencies and cooperate in personnel training.
