The eighth Vietnam International Dental Exhibition and Congress themed "International dental bridge" took place in Hanoi on August 19.
The congress attracted over 1,500 delegates from 18 nations across the world.
According to the Vietnam Odonto - Stomatology Association, up to 90% of the Vietnamese population have dental diseases. Among them, tens of thousands of children with cleft palates need special care and surgeries. Therefore, updating to advanced technology is essential to the country.
During the congress, participating experts will share knowledge on 42 subjects ranging from dental surgeries, teeth implants and therapy for children with cleft palates to preventive dentistry.
On the occasion, a dental exhibition is also taking place with 130 booths introducing advanced dental equipment and materials
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien said that Vietnam’s odonto-stomatology sector has made important contributions to preventing and treating dental diseases.
The congress creates a chance for Vietnamese dentists to access the world’s latest expertise and techniques in this field, he added.
