The event aims to encourage travel firms to promptly apply modern technology to sell their products, thus promoting their capacity to attract and serve customers online.
According to  Vu The Binh, this year’s event is expected to attract about 710 enterprises to showcase their products at 500 booths, tourism authorities from 47 provinces and cities of Vietnam and 25 countries and territories.

In addition, a forum under the theme “Vietnam’s outbound tourism – opportunities and challenges” will discuss hot topics in the context of the number of Vietnamese travelling to foreign countries increasing by 15 - 20% annually.
According to Vu The Binh from the VITA, North Korea will become a special guest at the 2019 VITM. This is the first time, this country introduces its tourism products in a fair in Vietnam.
