Vietnam is investigating whereabouts of 152 Vietnamese tourists missing in Taiwan
152 Vietnamese tourists were reported to be "missing" when travelling to Taiwan.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is working with Taiwanese authorities to identify the whereabouts of the 152 Vietnamese tourists who were reported unaccounted for since entering the island early this month, announced the ministry today.
Accordingly, the MOFA has contacted the Vietnamese Cultural and Economic office in Taipei to make an inquiry, jointly solve the case and avoid the negative impacts it may cause to the normal exchange of trade and tourism of both sides
Taiwanese authorities have cancelled the visas granted to the rest of the Vietnamese tour groups as well as considered visa application suspension for the tour agent responsible of sending the Vietnamese visitors.
Focus Taiwan on Dec. 25 quoted the Tourism Bureau as saying that there have been 152 Vietnamese tourists reported unaccounted for since they entered Taiwan earlier this month.
The bureau's International Affairs Department Director Cheng Ying-huei said the tourists, who came to Taiwan in four groups, went missing after they arrived in Kaohsiung on December 21 and December 23, respectively.
