Two big universities of Vietnam and US cooperate in carryying out molecular biology research, biochemistry and cancer research.
Ho Chi Minh City always creates good conditions for the Vietnam National University (VNU), Ho Chi Minh City and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to cooperate in post-graduate training and medicine research.
Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thu made the statement at a reception on September 12 for UCLA vice chancellor Scott Waugh. Waugh is attending the third International Conference on Innovations in Cancer Research and Regenerative Medicine held by the VNU, HCM City and UCLA in Ho Chi Minh City.
Thu lauded the cooperation between the two universities, particularly in molecular structure study and the establishment of Centre for Molecular and Nano Architecture (MANAR) in the VNU, HCM City in 2011. She expressed her hope that UCLA will continue to strengthen collaboration with HCM City in research and training.
Meanwhile, vice chancellor Waugh said that cooperation between the two universities has brought practical benefits to both sides and to relations between Vietnam and the US.
