Through golf, Greg Norman will promote Vietnam tourism to the world as well as bring international golf events to Vietnam.
Vietnam's government needs to have an action plan for golf tourism promotion, to lure more domestic visitors besides international tourists, said Vietnam Tourism Ambassador Greg Norman on the sidelines of a meeting with the Vietnam Tourism Association on March 22.
Vietnam Tourism Ambassador Greg Norman said he had been playing golf for more than 40 years in many countries. But he hasn’t seen any country with impressive growth of golf like Vietnam.
“When the Vietnamese government asked me to help promote the golf tourism, I was honored, because Vietnam is very young, young in golf, young in tourism, so I have to say congratulation to the Vietnamese government,” said Greg.
Through golf, Greg Norman will promote Vietnam's tourism to the world as well as bring international golf events to the Southeast Asian country.
During the meeting, the Vietnam Tourism Association and Greg Norman discussed the mission and vision of the Vietnam Golf Travel Association (VGTA).
Accordingly, as senior advisor to the Vietnam Golf Travel Association and Vietnam Tourism Ambassador, Greg Norman will give consultation to VGTA’s Standing Board on solutions and ways to strengthen domestic and international communication on Vietnamese golf courses, attract international golfers to Vietnam and promote the country’s golf tourism.
In addition, Greg Norman will give advise on contents related to experience and expertise on building Vietnam brand as the destination of Golf Travel – the field in which the ambassador is a world leading expert.
He also gave feedback on the draft annual operation program – plan of VGTA, including plans to celebrate the golf tournaments and international golf events in Vietnam.
Accordingly, as Vietnam Tourism Ambassador for the 2018 – 2020 term, Greg Norman will help VGTA cooperate and implement activites that contribute to building and developing Vietnam's golf travel brand in particular and the country' tourism industry in general.
