Trang An master plan for heritage conservation released

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on July 10 approved a master plan to preserve the Trang An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO-recognized heritage site in the northern province of Ninh Binh. The complex covers more than 9,600 hectares and includes local limestone karsts, temples, pagodas, small villages, and the ancient citadel of Hoa Lu.
Under the plan, the Government will make the Trang An Landscape Complex one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world and an engine of growth for the northern delta region.
Vietnam Miss World to be held in Binh Dinh Province
The Miss World Vietnam 2023 contest kicked off on July 10 in the coastal city of Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh Province. Forty contestants will take part in the contest until the finale on July 22.
The contest, featuring sports and beach beauty activities, will also be an opportunity for Vietnam and Binh Dinh Province to promote their beauty and values.
First LNG shipment arrives in Vietnam
The Greek liquefied natural gas (LNG) ship Maran Gas Achilles arrived at the Thi Vai LNG Terminal in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on July 10 with nearly 70,000 tons of LNG, marking the first LNG shipment imported into the country. The gas will be used to facilitate the testing and official operation of the Thi Vai LNG Terminal.
The terminal was inaugurated in 2019 at a total cost of VND6.5 trillion (US$274.7 million) and is capable of receiving 100,000-ton ships and storing up to 180,000 cubic meters of LNG.
Airports urged to tighten management of shared vehicles
Vietnam's Department of Civil Aviation has asked airports and local authorities to better control taxis and shared vehicles operating on airport premises. The request is to prevent drivers from tampering with their meters. Airport managers and local authorities are also asked to take punitive measures against those who commit the scams.
The aviation authority specifically asked Tan Son Nhat and Phu Quoc International Airports to take appropriate measures regarding taxi fare scams reported in the media.
Vietnam AI Summit scheduled for late September
The Vietnam AI Summit 2023 (AI4VN 2023) will be held on September 21-22 in Ho Chi Minh City to showcase the latest AI products, bridge the business community with Government agencies, discuss AI development in Vietnam and the world, and honor the tech firm with the best working environment.
Launched in 2020, the annual AI4VN has become one of Vietnam's premier science and technology events, attracting the attention of many tech enthusiasts, government agencies, and tech companies.
