TPBank among the most valuable brands worldwide for the first time

Private equity lender Tien Phong Bank (TPBank), for the first time in history, has made it into one of the 500 most valuable banks in the world. In the Banking 500 2024 Ranking announced by the British brand valuation Brand Finance in March 2024, TPBank ranks 326th with a value of US$425 million.
In addition to TPBank, Vietnam has 15 other banks with the highest brand values, including Vietcombank, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), VietinBank, Agribank, and VPBank.
Foreign affairs units prepared for citizen protection after Taiwan earthquake
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representative offices in Taiwan (China), Japan, and the Philippines are all geared up to provide protective measures for overseas Vietnamese following a 7.2-magnitude earthquake that hit Taiwan on the early morning of March 3, killing at least nine people and injuring 1,000. No Vietnamese casualties are reported.

Lang Son eyes to become Vietnam’s fourth geological park
The northern highlands province of Lang Son plans to propose to the Government and UNESCO to recognize its geological park, heard a meeting on April 3. If approved, Lang Son will become Vietnam’s fourth province with a geological park after Ha Giang, Cao Bang, and Dak Nong.
The Lang Son Geological Park covers an area of more than 4,800km2, spanning eight districts in the province. The provincial authorities expect to receive a UNESCO delegation coming in July for assessment.
Ho Chi Minh City ranks first among the localities where people want to live
A fifth of 19,500 respondents see Ho Chi Minh City as the most worth-living place, according to the PAPI 2023 Report announced on April 2 by the United Nations Development Program.
Hanoi ranked second with a rate of 15%. Regarding the reasons for moving to these localities, the desire to reunite family ranked first, with a rate of 41%, followed by the need for employment, with a rate of 22%.
Vietnam strengthens trade cooperation with Algeria
Vietnamese and Algerian trade agencies agreed to boost economic and investment relations, heard a meeting between the Vietnam Trade Office in Algeria and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Algeria’s Bejaia on April 2.
Algerian Chairman of the Chamber Mamasse Samir called on Vietnamese businesses to invest in the Algerian localities and cooperate with local partners based on mutual benefits. Vietnamese Trade Counselor Hoang Duc Nhuan briefly introduced Vietnam's economic and foreign trade situation and the trade and investment cooperation relationship between the two countries.
Transactions of OCOP products on the TikTok platform reached over US$4 billion
After a year of implementation, OCOP product sales on TikTok reached $4 billion, announced the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and TikTok Vietnam on April 3.
According to the two units, the One Commune-One Market (OCOP) selling project has made positive results. Through TikTok, some 3,000 OCOP businesses have created over 800 livestreaming videos and received 1.4 billion views.
