Vietnam Airlines to offer nearly 2,500 flights during National Day holiday
The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has announced that it will increase the number of flights to meet travel demand during the National Day [September 2] holiday, which runs from August 30 to September 4.

The number of seats during this period will be around half a million, or nearly 2,500 flights. The international routes with the most additional flights are those between Vietnam and India, China, Thailand, and Australia, bringing the total number of seats to over 150,000, equivalent to more than 650 flights, a slight increase over last year.
Vietnam Festival strengthens ties with Japan
The 8th Vietnam Festival will be held in Japan's Kanagawa Prefecture on September 7-8 to strengthen friendship between the two nations.
The annual celebration, which debuted in 2015, will include activities to promote tourism and investment, as well as initiatives to increase trade and economic cooperation between areas on both sides, build a bridge between Vietnamese communities and Kanagawa, and promote people-to-people ties. Vietnam is the second largest foreign community in Kanagawa with approximately 34,000 citizens.
China is Vietnam's biggest feed importer
China is the largest buyer of Vietnam's animal feed and raw materials worth US$200 million in the first six months of 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said on August 14.
The exports accounted for nearly 41% of Vietnam's total export turnover of these products.
Vietnam - potential market for Argentine businesses
Ambassador Mario Schuff, Senior Advisor of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce for Asia and the Pacific said Argentine businesses are keen to trade with and invest in Vietnam. The sharing was reported at a seminar on August 14 when he praised Vietnam's economic achievements and the efforts of businesses from both countries to promote trade relations, with two-way trade exceeding US$3.5 billion last year.
International Fire Safety and Security Expo opens in Ho Chi Minh City
The International Exhibition on Fire Safety, Rescue and Security Technology opened on August 14 in Ho Chi Minh City. The three-day event features 460 leading brands from 19 countries showcasing advanced fire safety, rescue and security technologies.
Tien Giang hosts National Youth Taekwondo Championship - CJ 2024
The National Youth Taekwondo Championship - CJ 2024, to be held in Tien Giang from August 15 to 22, will feature over 1,000 participants from 44 units. The event includes four age categories (U12, U14, U17, and U20), with top young athletes such as Nguyen Thi Mai and Tran Trinh Trong competing for spots on the national team. Outstanding performers will represent Vietnam in international competitions in October.
119 works selected for final round of National Press Award
The jury of the 2nd National Press Award "For the Cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism Development" selected 119 works for the final round on August 14 in Hanoi. The competition received 920 entries in various media. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on August 28 at the Hanoi Opera House.
Danang launches Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club
The Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club of Danang made its debut on August 13 at the Ngu Hanh Son Cultural Center. The club aims to honor and promote Ao Dai, Vietnam's traditional dress for both men and women.
