The holiday is expected to boost domestic tourism.
Government officials, civil servants and employees will enjoy a National Day holiday from August 31 to the end of September 3, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Employees of non-governmental organizations and companies may choose either Sunday (September 1) or Tuesday (September 3) for the holiday, in addition to the holiday on Monday (September 2) that they are entitled to.
Foreign workers are entitled to days off for their New Year's Day and their respective National Day, in addition to the statutory holidays.
According to the Labor Code and the Government's Decree on overtime pay, any employee who works during the day on a holiday is entitled to at least 300% of his or her regular wage.
