Approval of master planning for Thay Pagoda and Sai Son Rock

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a Government Decision on 5 January 2024 approving the task of master planning the conservation, restoration and rehabilitation plan for the Thay Pagoda Special National Heritage Site and the Sai Son, Hoang Xa and Phuong Cach area, Quoc Oai District, Hanoi. Covering an area of approximately 98.30 hectares, the plan aims to preserve the outstanding historical, cultural, scientific, geological and geographical values of the area, create an attractive tourist destination, generate income for the local area and contribute to the local economy.
Vietnam to host UPU International Letter Writing Contest in 2024
The Ministry of Information and Communication has launched the 53rd UPU International Letter Writing Contest in 2024 with the theme: "Write a letter to tell future generations about the world you hope they will inherit", on 5 January in Vo Nhai District, northern Thai Nguyen Province.
Danang to host International Fireworks Festival in 2024

The Danang People's Committee is working with Sun Group to organize the Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024. Similar to 2023, this year's event will be held at the Han River Port and the sidewalk of Tran Hung Dao Street. Eight teams are expected to participate, including seven from France, Italy, the US, Germany, Poland, China, Finland, and the Dannang team representing Vietnam.
Fruit and vegetable exports expected to reach US$6.5-7 billion in 2024
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development forecasts a 15-20% growth in the fruit and vegetable sector and a turnover of US$6.5-7 billion in 2024. In 2023, the sector exceeded the export target with a value of $5.69 billion. The export value of Vietnam's fruits and vegetables accounts for about 2-3% of global fruit and vegetable exports.
International travelers' search for Vietnam ranks 6th in the world
International tourist search for Vietnam ranks 6th in the world, according to Google's market trend monitoring tool. The top 10 most searched markets include the US, Australia, Japan, India, South Korea, Singapore, UK, Germany, Malaysia and Thailand. The most searched destinations in Vietnam by international tourists are Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Danang, Phu Quoc Island (southern Kien Giang Province), Hoi An Ancient City (central Quang Nam Province), Nha Trang City (southern Khanh Hoa Province), Dalat (southern Lam Dong Province), Hue and Phan Thiet (southern Binh Thuan Province). In 2024, Vietnam's tourism industry aims to welcome 17-18 million international visitors.
Nine destinations for Vietnamese tourists in 2024
Booking.com has announced four domestic and five international destinations for Vietnamese tourists as a suggestion for upcoming vacations. They were selected from the list of 1,000 destinations with the most bookings by Vietnamese tourists in 2023. Accordingly, four domestic destinations include the southern city of Bac Lieu, the northern province of Ha Nam, the northern city of Ha Giang, the northern province of Hoa Binh, while five international locations were named: Taipei (China), Chiang Mai (Thailand), Seoul (Korea), Siem Reap (Cambodia) and Bali (Indonesia).
