Vietnam stock market expected to grow strong until year-end

Vietnam's stock market is expected to pick up towards the end of the year, according to the Vietnam Investment Forum 2024 held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 9. Controlled inflation, falling interest rates, allocation of funds for public investment projects, improved exports, and better corporate earnings are among the key factors driving the domestic market upward.
Investors are advised to remain calm to make the right decisions amid market volatility and improve their risk management quality.
Hokkaido Festival to be held in Quang Ninh Province next weekend
The Hokkaido Festival, running in the northern province of Quang Ninh from November 16 to 19, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. The festival is expected to attract 4,000 people and tourists to experience the unique cultural features of Quang Ninh and Hokkaido.
Japan is the second largest export market for Quang Ninh Province.
E-toll tested on three highway sections
The Ministry of Transport has asked related parties and government agencies to test the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system on three north-south highways, including Dien Chau-Bai Vot in the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh and Nha Trang-Cam Lam and Cam Lam-Vinh Hao connecting the two southern provinces of Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan.
The ministry has assigned the Department of Roads of Vietnam to supervise the ETC tests.
Vietnamese bodybuilders win five gold medals at world championship
Vietnamese bodybuilders on November 9 won 13 medals, including five golds, at the 14th WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships & Congress held in Wonju City, Gangwon Province, South Korea, from November 6-12. Among the winners was 47-year-old Pham Van Mach, who won the gold medal in the men's 55kg final.
Vietnam sent 22 athletes to the world championship, where 300 professional bodybuilders from 39 countries and territories competed.
Vietnam aims for top 3 in ASEAN labor productivity growth
Vietnam aims to be among the top three ASEAN countries in labor productivity growth by 2030, according to the National Program on Labor Productivity Enhancement to 2030.
The program, led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, sets to make labor productivity a key driver of rapid and sustainable growth and effectively capitalize on the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Top international destinations for Vietnamese solo travelers
Tokyo, Bangkok and Seoul are the most popular destinations for solo travelers from Vietnam checking in on weekends, according to the latest survey by Singapore-based digital travel platform Agoda.
Fifteen Vietnamese universities named in Asia Rankings 2024
15 Vietnamese higher education institutions were listed in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The other institutions included Duy Tan University (115th), Ton Duc Thang University (138th), Vietnam National University - Hanoi (187th) and Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (220th). QS, based in the United Kingdom, is one of the world's three most prestigious and influential university-ranking organizations.
Apple partner invests more than US$504 million in Bac Giang
Apple's assembly partner, Luxshare ICT, has been allowed to increase its investment capital to US$504 million, an increase of US$330 million, in its project in the northern province of Bac Giang, according to the province's Management Board of Industrial Zones.
The project, located in Quang Chau Industrial Park, Viet Yen District, covers an area of nearly 30 hectares. The project will create employment opportunities for thousands of workers in the province and surrounding areas.
