Vietnam and Japan enhance healthcare cooperation

IHW group plans to invest in Vietnam, offering advanced medical services, scholarships, and training for healthcare professionals. Chairman Takagi Kunimori said at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister le Thanh Long on November 15.

In response, Deputy Prime Minister Long welcomed the Japanese business investment, expressing hope that it would improve healthcare quality in Vietnam and strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Bac Ninh leads Vietnam in attracting foreign direct investment

The northern province of Bắc Ninh led Vietnam in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction from January to October 2024, securing US$4.7 billion, a three-fold increase on-year. This accounted for 17.2% of national FDI. The province welcomed 348 new projects, primarily from China, Hong Kong (China), and Singapore. Major investments included collaborations with Samsung Vietnam, Canon, and US-based Kine SIC Semi.

Huawei Vietnam launches ICT competition to enhance student skills

Huawei Vietnam on November 15 launched the ICT Competition 2024-2025, offering training tracks in Cloud, Network, and Computing for students. Participants will compete in national, regional (Malaysia), and global (China) rounds. The competition fosters ICT skills and career opportunities, with winners joining global talent exchanges. Registration runs until December 10, with national finals on December 13.

Vietnam to host the largest Teqball World Championship

The 2024 Teqball World Championship will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from December 3 to December 8, featuring over 90 countries and territories, the largest Teqball event ever. The tournament highlights Vietnam’s cultural heritage and global sports integration through exhibitions, cultural showcases, and investment promotion activities.

Vietnam achieves record fruit and vegetable export figures


Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports reached $6.16 billion during January-October 2024, a 28% year-on-year increase, surpassing the $6 billion mark for the first time. Durian exports, valued at over $3 billion, were the main driver of this growth. Exports to China alone hit $4.1 billion, up from around $3.2 billion in the same period last year. Despite a recent decline, annual exports are expected to exceed $7 billion, driven by strong global demand and favorable trade agreements.

Vietnam commits to strengthening UNCLOS implementation

Vietnam will prioritize the effective implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), ensuring full respect and compliance, stated Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyễn Minh Vũ. Speaking at the 30th anniversary of UNCLOS enforcement, he emphasized Vietnam's active contributions, including its efforts in resolving maritime disputes and strengthening international cooperation. Moving forward, Vietnam aims to enhance its maritime laws, advocate for peaceful dispute resolution, and promote UNCLOS globally, further solidifying its role as a responsible international partner.

Vegetable Village Tra Que named the best tourism village in 2024

Tra Que Vegetable Village in the central province of Quang Nam, was recognized as the “Best Tourism Village 2024” by UN Tourism on November 14 in Cartagena, Colombia (7am, November 15, Vietnam). As the only Vietnamese representative honored this year, Tra Que showcases its rich cultural heritage, sustainable practices, and organic farming traditions. This award highlights Vietnam’s efforts in promoting rural tourism globally.
