Vietnam’s Embassy in Chile joined the ASEAN Tourism Information Fair on June 22 in Santiago, Chile’s capital, which attracted hundreds of companies operating in the tourism sector in Chile and other countries.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Chile Ngo Duc Thang attended a talk in the framework of the fair where he introduced Vietnam, its people as well as UNESCO-recognised heritage sites.
The embassy also distributed leaflets, books to visitors and screened the video clip Welcome to Vietnam at the event.
Many Chilean companies expressed their willingness to cooperate with Vietnamese partners and the embassy to promote tourism products.
The fair is one of a series of culture, sports and tourism events organised by the ASEAN Commission in Santiago, beginning from April, to boost the understanding between ASEAN’s member nations and Chile.
A photo contest on ASEAN tourism will be organised to promote images of countries and people of ASEAN member countries in Chile.
The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) comprises of 10 members: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
