Vietnam recognises additional 11 national intangible cultural heritages

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien has issued the Decision No.217 on recognising the list of 11 national intangible cultural heritages.

According to the decision, 11 newly-recognised national intangible cultural heritages consist four types: traditional festivals, social practices and beliefs, folk performing arts and folk knowledges.
The list of these national intangible cultural heritages are:
1. The Han Khuong Singing  of Thai ethnic in Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai province;

 
2. A festival dedicated to Au Co - the legendary mother of Vietnam - in Hien Luong commune of Ha Hoa district, the northern province of Phu Tho;
 
 
 
3. The annual Tich Dien (ploughing) Festival in Doi Son commune, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province;
 
4. Tran Thuong Temple Festival, Nhan Dao commune, Ly Nhan district, Ha Nam province;
5. The Lieu Doi Wrestling Festival, Liem Tuc commune, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province;
6. Bo Da  pagoda Festival in Tien Son, Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province;
 
7. Keo Pagoda Festival, Duy Nhat commune, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province;
 
8. Duom Temple Festival in Dong Dat commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province;
9. Festival of Ha, Thuong and Y La Temples in Tuyen Quang city, Tuyen Quang province;

10. The art of words writing on Buong leaves of the Khmer ethnic in Tri Ton and Tinh Bien districts, An Giang province;
11. Sac bua (Tet Greeting) singing in Phu Le commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province.
Under the decision, Chairmans of the provinces where have newly-recognised national intangible cultural heritages were required to perform effectively the State management for these heritages according to the provisions of the law on cultural heritage.
