The 11-member jury includes directors Phan Gia Nhat Linh, Nguyen Quang Dung and Khai Hung, journalists Lai Van Sam and Ho Quang Loi, and musician Quoc Trung. Currently, Olympic champion Hoang Xuan Vinh leads in the category of Figure of the Year.
Two blockbluster TV series Song Chung Voi Me Chong (Living with Mother-in-Law) and Nguoi Phan Xu (The Arbitrator) compete for first place as the number of votes for them is equivalent.
The awarding ceremony next month will be broadcast live on VTV3 channel. Launched in 2014, the annual award has received much attention from audiences and specialists. It has become a prestigious award honoring popular programmes and faces who won audiences’ hearts.
In 2016, Vietnam Television Centre (VFC)’s Zippo, Mustard and You won three prizes at the 2016 VTV Awards. The 36-episode film won the VTV Award for impressive TV series. Directed by Meritorious Artist Trọng Trinh and Tiến Huy, the story is inspired by the love relationships of young and successful people and is also about friendship and family life.
The film’s leading actor and actress -- Hong Dang and Nha Phuong -- were presented the impressive TV serial actor and actress awards, respectively.
