Vietnam to host the 27th International Biology Olympiad in 2016
On July 22, the Ministry of Education and Training held a ceremony to welcome Vietnamese students, who took home one silver and two bronze medals and a consolation prize at the 26th International Biology Olympiad and give the flag to the Hanoi National University of Education for hosting the 27th International Biology Olympiad.
The 26th International Biology Olympiad concluded in Aarhus city in Denmark. The event attracted 239 students from 63 countries and territories. The organising board awarded 26 gold, 48 silver and 72 bronze medals as well as 24 consolation prizes.
Le Thi Nguyet Hang from Le Quy Don High School in the central city of Da Nang earned the silver medal.
Bronze medals winners were Pham Minh Duc from Le Hong Phong High School in Nam Dinh province and Le Xuan Luong from the Hanoi National University of Natural Sciences’ High School for gifted students.
The consolation prize was awarded to Pham Thi Yen Ngoc from the Lam Son High School in Thanh Hoa province.
The 27th International Biology Olympiad will be organised in Hanoi from July 17-24 in 2016.
