Vietnam wins silver medal at WorldSkills 2019

Truong The Dieu from DENSO Vietnam Company beat 30/31 contestants in Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Milling to win a silver medal.

Vietnamese delegation has won one silver medal, the highest accomplishment so far, at the 45th the world championships of vocational skills WorldSkills 2019, which was held in Kazan, Russia, Thanh Nien newspaper reported.

Truong The Dieu from DENSO Vietnam Company beat 30/31 contestants in Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Milling to win the silver medal.

WorldSkills 2019 has wrapped up after 10 days and this is the first time that Vietnam grabbed the silver medal after 7 times participating in the competition. Other eight contestants from the Vietnamese team were awarded excellent vocational skill certifications and the team was ranked 25 out of 63 nations and territories joining in WorldSkills 2019, informed General Department Of Vocational Training.

This year, Vietnam sent 19 representatives to compete in 18 vocations.

Other eight contestants, who were granted excellent vocational skill certifications in seven occupations, are Phan Van Quoc in CNC turning; Nguyen Van Quan and Nguyen Van Hung in mechatronics; Tran Van Phuc in solution for information technology software; Bui Duy Kiem in brick building; Le Thanh Duong in web-tech; Vu Trong Dat in mechanical engineering CAD and Nguyen Thai Phuong in water technology.

The competition this year attracted over 1,300 contestants representing 63 nations and territories worldwide who competed in 56 vocations in six fields namely construction and building technology, creative arts, and fashion, information technology, and communication, manufacturing and engineering technology, social –individual service, transportation, and logistics.
