Vietnam wins three gold medals at int’l math Olympiad

The Vietnamese students have won three gold medals, two silvers and a bronze at the 55th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Cape Town, South Africa from July 3 - 13.

The gold medals went to Nguyen The Hoan from Hanoi, Tran Hong Quan from the northern province of Thai Binh, and Pham Tuan Huy from Ho Chi Minh city.
 
Vuong Nguyen Thuy Dung from the central city of Da Nang and Ho Quoc Dang Hung from Ho Chi Minh City grabbed two silver medals.
The bronze medal went to Nguyen Huy Tung from the northern port city of Hai Phong earned bronze medal.
The Olympiad attracted 560 contestants from 101 countries and territories, who competed for 49 gold, 113 silver, and 133 bronze medals.
With the total points of 157 from the six medals, the Vietnamese team ranked 10th in the table after China, the US, Taiwan, Russia, Japan, Ukraine, South Korea, Singapore, and Canada./.
