Vietnamese and French Communist Parties seek ways to foster cooperation

The relationship between Vietnam and France will become ever closer and practical, contributing to to the closer ties between the two countries as well as with the European Union.

Vietnamese and French Communist Parties together are seeking ways to foster cooperation in the future, said National Secretary of the French Communist Party Fabien Roussel at the meeting with Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung in Hanoi on July 22.

Fabien Roussel noted this is his first official visit to a country outside the European Union since he was elected National Secretary of the French Communist Party.

Fabien Roussel affirmed that his trip is significant for the two sides to look back on the path of time honored relationship between the two communist parties which began in 1920, as well as to review Vietnam’s achievements since its independence in 1945.

The visit to Vietnam is meaningful for Fabien Roussel as he used to live in Hanoi. It is also meaningful since the French Communist Party is about to celebrate íts 100th anniversary. Late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh was among the founders of the party, said the French guest.

 
For his part, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung emphasized that Hanoi will coordinate with Fabien Roussel’s delegation for the successful organization of the 100th anniversary of the French Communist Party.

Chung also appreciated the French communists’ support in the struggle of Vietnam for peace and development in recent years.

He believes that the relationship between the two countries will become ever closer and practical, contributing to the closer ties between the two countries as well as with the European Union.

Besides, the cooperation between the Hanoi Party Committee and members of the French Communist Party remains in the framework of the two parties’ relationship with an aim of fostering the two countries’ relationship ever stronger.
