Vietnamese Ao Dai featured in the US

A Vietnamese Ao Dai (traditional long tunic) collection by designer Vo Viet Chung will be the centerpiece of the third Ao Dai Cultural Festival in California, the US, on May 4.

At the festival there will be an abundant variety of coordinated activities promoting Vietnamese culture, most notably of which is an Ao Dai parade of more than 100 beautiful models and an Ao Dai Fashion Awards ceremony.

It took 20 artisans a year to hand make the Haute Conture style “Miss Ao Dai” collection which will be presented by International supermodel Elizabeth Thuy Tien.

In the programme, the models will revive the images of snobbish and graceful ladies in the early 20th century in Saigon (now HCM City) which was considered Pearls of the Far East.
