Vietnamese diplomats urged to become bridge for Hanoi foreign investment

Speaking at the meeting,  the head of the Hanoi’s government stressed that the ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese foreign  missions would serve as a bridge to  effectively convey the Party’s guidelines, State’s policies and laws on external activities to the Vietnamese people overseas.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung  also briefed them on the  the basic figures of Hanoi, especially the  socio-economic situation in 2016. For the year of 2017, Hanoi is expected to reach a  GRDP   of 236.953 billion VND, roughly 10 billion dollars – the highest in six years. In 2016, Hanoi welcomed 21 million tourists, including 4.5 million from abroad, an increase  by 27 percent.
According to the Hanoi’s mayor, the capital city  is working to lure foreign investment on the development of high-tech agriculture, investing in bio-tech parks, high technologies and so on. He mentioned as an example the manage car parking via cellphone technology (iParking) which has been piloted this year in Ly Thuong Kiet and Tran Hung Dao streets from May 1 to August 1. This is the first breakthrough in the process of applying modern technology to car keeping, bringing maximum utility for users as well as transparency in management.
The ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese foreign  missions for the 2017 - 2020 tenure expressed the good  impression for Hanoi’s  2016 achievements.  In addition, they  expressed their resolve in fulfilling tasks assigned by the Party, State and people, helping to promote Việt Nam’s position globally.
