Vietnamese enterprises head to sustainable development

On 18th April, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held the Inauguration ceremony of Evaluation and rating program for sustainable enterprises in Vietnam 2017.

 
The annual program under the guideline of Government aims to honour pioneering and successful companies in sustainable development; and to encourage Vietnamese enterprises with innovating sustainable development policy during the operation, also.
The birth of Code of Sustainable business Index (CSI) makes a breakthrough since this the first time an independent unit carries out it. Designed especially for Vietnamese enterprises, the code is highly appreciated with convenience, which can be applied for business of all forms, scales and domains.
The Code content are built up and consulted by numerous leading investment experts, related organs; and many Vietnamese as well as foreign economic think-tank. This year, although being adjusted for better outcome, CSI criterions follow 3 key factors: economic target, society target and environment target, including 151 questions divided in 2 parts (Parts 1: common targets, Part 2: specific targets).
Mr Đào Đình Thi – President of Bao Viet cooperation’s Governing Board said: “CSI set out common standard criterions for Vietnam Enterprise, a key advance for Vietnam enterprise community to head to develop sustainably.”
In 2016, the Evaluation and rating program for sustainable enterprise in Vietnam attracted 400 businesses of different field to attend, among those were 100 most-excellent ones honoured.
This is the second year of the programme. As expected, name of the most sustainable development enterprise will be announced on December, 2017.
