Vietnamese family festival in Washington D.C honors traditional values

Children brought extra energy to the day with lively cultural performances, enhancing the festival’s joyful atmosphere.

THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnamese family festival honoring the enduring traditional values and enhancing the village community was held on August 3 in Washington D.C.

Jointly hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in the US and representative offices of various agencies in Washington D.C., the festival is described as a vital source of spiritual support for community members living and working there.

Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US said that the festival aimed to preserve and promote the cherished traditions of Vietnamese families within the village community, while fostering solidarity and close bonds.

The event also provided an opportunity to encourage and reward children of staff members of Vietnamese representative offices in Washington for their academic achievements and personal efforts throughout the year.

"The festival took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, creating memorable moments for the families of embassy and agency personnel," said Dung.

Enthusiasm bubbled over as participants joined traditional games and activities, including tug-of-war, sack races, and mini football.
