Vietnamese fashion designer Minh Hanh wins the Fukuoka Prize 2015

A ceremony to announce winners of the Fukuoka Prize 2015 was held in Hanoi on July 7. Leading fashion designer Minh Hanh has become the second Vietnamese to receive the Fukuoka Prize known as arts and culture award.

Fashion designer Minh Hanh produces contemporary fashion designs based on her deep insight of the many ethnic cultures in Vietnam. Her fashion shows and cultural activities have helped introduce Vietnamese culture closer to the world.

Her great contribution to the development of fashion culture makes her worthy of the Arts and Culture Prize of the Fukuoka Prize, according to Fukuoka website.
The famous designer is due to fly to Japan in September for an official awards presentation ceremony.
Previously, historian and professor Phan Huy Le was the first Vietnamese to receive the Fukuoka Prize in 1996.
